    Hi there,

I'm new to Parallels and have so far found it a great product... I do however have an important question regarding networking that I hope someone can answer/help me with.

I use my Mac to log into work using our VPN.

If I use the shared connection in the Parallels Windows 7 VM instance, then I can get to my internal work websites on the internet (using Internet Explorer).

What I want to achieve is that I am logged into my VPN on the Mac, but I do not want ANY of the network traffic from my Windows instance to go across my work VPN... it all needs to go across the network connection (obviously) but not over my VPN...

How do I set up networking in the Windows instance so that I can achieve this?

    Many thanks for your help.

Hi, the solution requires some understanding on how networking functions

when you are connected to VPN, there additional interface with own IP-address and netmask appears on the Mac. You can see it if you start /Application/Utilities/Terminal and execute ifconfig.

I think that you can configure Windows Firewall to block all traffic to and from this subnet. Or if you are using some Firewall on Mac OS, you can block process prl_naptd from accessing this subnet
