Network Drive in Parallels Causes Network Drives on Mac to Unmount

When I launch Windows XP in Parallels, it caused whatever network drive(s) are mounted on the Mac side to become unmounted. This appears to be related to the automatic connection of "mapped" network drives from within Windows -- if I disconnect the network drives on the Windows side so they don't connect at startup, the problem goes away.

Can I not have network drives mounted in both the Mac and the Windows environments?
 
What happens if you use Bridged Networking? The server may be preventing multiple connections to the same share-point with a single username. Just a first thought.
 
Thanks. When I switch to Bridged Networking I lose my Internet connection. But I will see if our IT people can make it work.
 
You lose your internet connection to your computer? Or to Windows? Hope your guys work it out. Get them on this thread if they aren't familar with Parallels or Virtualization and they get stuck.
 
Just on the Windows side -- after I turned on Bridged Networking, I continued to get email and I could see local web pages, but I couldn't see anything on the larger Internet.
 
It sounds like the settings were not set-up correctly, you need to give the network adapter in Windows the proper settings just like you would do any physical computer.
