Network Drives keep unmounting...

Greetings.

I'm a graphic designer, and I just got my first Mac at work. We installed Parallels so that I could work in Windows when necessary. We use a Windows server. When I get in every morning, I power up the Mac and I mount the drives that I need to use (about 3 or 4 drives). However, whenever I open up Parallels, my mounted drives in Mac OS suddenly unmount. For example, I'll have three drives mounted, I'll open Parallels, and then all three of those drives will unmount instantly. Another time this occurred was while I was dragging a JPEG from Mac OS to Windows. After the file got copied into Windows, all of my drives unmounted. Even when I leave Parallels minimized and I'm working in Photoshop, the drive I'm working from will disappear randomly.

After operating without Parallels for the entire morning, I've found that it's definitely the source of the problem.

At this stage, the problem seems to be pretty sporadic, but it definitely creates a conflict when I try to work with MAC and PC at the same time. Heard anything about this? Any clues as to why this would be happening?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
 
Alright, basically the Bridged will give you PC a seperate IP through the same adapter your OS X uses (the equivalent of a software switch). You may need to have the MAC address of Parallels (you can find this and edit it from your config panel) added to any domain policies you might have.
 
All right! I believe we got the problem solved.

We went into our options and changed the Network Settings from Shared to Bridge. My supervisor checked it out and it looks like we're operating on two separate IPs now. I've had it running for about an hour now with no trouble.
