How do I get the Parallels ethernet device ("interface") to show up in System Preferences -> Network when using Host-Only? I have this setup on a much older system with a much older Parallels Desktop, but I don't recall having to do anything special to make the virtual ethernet device show up. I already tried the "+" but there is no parallels interface.
The option to show the interface in System Preferences described here is absent! https://kb.parallels.com/en/116528
There are a zillion devices listed if I type ifconfig in MacOS, but I can't find any documentation as to which is which
According to prlsrvctl it isn't bound to a device. How do I fix this? ~ prlsrvctl net list Network ID Type Bound To Shared shared NAT server: Host-Only host-only Wi-Fi (en0) bridged en0 Default bridged FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF
Hello! This logic is disabled for Mac computers with macOS 11+ since Parallels Desktop 16.1.0 due to modern macOS limitations (kernel extension-less network). The KB article mentioned above has been hidden. Thank you for making us pay attention to it!
I managed to create a Network Service for the bridge101 interface by editing /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist Unsure why Parallels can't do this.
