Networking between two Parallel Window computers

I have a new Mac Mini and a one-year old MacBook Pro. Both are running 10.7.3. One both of these machines I have Parallels 7 with the latest updates. I want to share a folder on the Mac Mini so the MacBook Pro can access it.
Both are are on the same Workgroups and I know how to share a folder in Windows 7. I cannot ping successfully between the Mac Mini and MacBook Pro.

On both of the machines in Virtual Machine > Configure > Network > the type is Shared Network and the connected box is checked.

When I check on the IP Address of each Windows session their IP addresses are the same.

What else can I check so I can share a folder between the Mac Mini and MacBook Pro?

The VMs on the two machines have the same address because you are using shared networking on both. Shared networking essentially sets up a DHCP server on each Mac to distribute a local IP address to the VM and the same network is used for both. I forget what it is, but the common networks are 192.x.x.x and 10.x.x.x.

But even with this, I would think that Windows file sharing would still work since the Mac's IP addresses mask or hide the identical IP addresses of the VMs.

Assuming both machines are connected to a router (wired or wireless), I'd set the VMs to bridged networking so they get their own unique IP addresses from the router. That way you can be sure they'll be able to talk to each other.

I have a similar issue in that I can't access one windows 7 vm and another windows 7 vm.

One is x86 and the other is x64.

Both are on Default Adapter in their network settings.

All I want to do is transfer files between them instead of having to copy to osx and then to the other win 7 vm.

My MBP is not connected to Wifi or any other network, I want them to be able to connect to each other though without this.
