Single Server. Dual Quad-core Xeon, 4GB RAM, SAS RAID1, Windows 2003 r2. SAge MAS500 ERP primary app. 15-25 users. Across t1 VPN.


Users are reporting that when typing in boxes, the app lags behind, then jumps to catch up, but letters are in a random order. Anyone here of this before? THere is also a lag at times. Can 2x cause the lag?

If the CPU on the terminal server spikes to 100% accross all "cores" could this cause "lag" on the app?

What clients are you using?
2X cannot cause letters to come in random order, it seems the application is buggy.
If your server cpu is at 100% of the CPU then you will have lagging and delays. Check which application is causing the CPU usage.
2X Offer a CPU load Balancer, the option is in the terminal server settings, this will allow application to run smoother if your machine is haevily loaded, but again you should not have your machine at 100% CPU for a long time
 
TrendMicro on the client side was causing all of the "letter scrambling" and speed issues.

I turned it off and all was well immediately.
