I'm using v8 and Mountain Lion. I've used Parallels for several years but have never used Coherence mode. I'm setting up a new computer and thought I'd give it a shot. The other day I was trying to upload a photo from my Mac desktop to a web forum that didn't want to play nicely with Safari. So I switched over to Windows and fired up IE. I couldn't figure out how to access that file on my Mac desktop so that I could attach it to the forum post. When I used to run Parallels in windowed mode, I had a couple of shared folders for transferring files back and forth between the Mac and the VM. Do I still have to do this? I'm hoping not.
Someone pointed me to an outdated post that says I need to add my computer's IP address to Windows as a new network. Supposedly that will give me access to the files in the Mac OS (I don't know if it works in the other direction). But since the instructions were for some previous version of PD and Win XP, they don't match what I'm seeing in PD8 and Win 7. Anyone know?
Hi, All you need to do is to press Alt+click on Parallels logo at the top right corner of your screen > Configure > Options > Sharing and enable Shared Profile. You can read more about this option on page 63 of the User Guide: http://www.parallels.com/fileadmin/...port/pd8fm/Parallels_Desktop_User_s_Guide.pdf
