No Internet Connection on VM side

Been using Parallels for a year now with minimal problems.

However, after recently formatting my Mac Pro and reinstalling
Leopard and Parallels, I am having problems within the virtual machine.

The Internet works fine on the OS X side. Within the Vista VM, there
is no Internet connectivity.

This is strange because with my prior install under the same conditions
(but a lower build of Parallels) there was Internet.

Any advice please?
 
I am having the same problem running OS X 10.5.1 Leopard.

The internet works fine within Leopard. However, Windows Vista Ultimate no longer connects to the internet. Vista used to connect to the internet prior to installing Leopard.

In fact, although I'm not 100% sure, the internet connected within Vista when I had only Leopard 10.5 installed (not 10.5.1.). Could the software update to 10.5.1 caused a conflict with Parallels Desktop?

What settings did you change in Parallels Desktop? Do you run Parallels Tools as well (inside Parallels Desktop)?

I'm running Parallels Desktop Build 5582. I noticed Parallels have Build 5584 listed on the Parallels.com website but I am unable to download it. The download page does not appear to be functioning properly.

Appreciate any tips you can provide?

On the bottom of the Parallels virtual window is a set of
configuration buttons. One of them is for NETWORK.

I simply selected a different network and suddenly the
Internet worked.

Yes, I switched to "Bridged Ethernet" and it worked. I actually thought I had tried this option before without success. However, it worked this time. Thanks!
 
That worked for me too. I switched to a different item on the network adapter list, and everything started working. Thanks.
