Number entry

I'm new to Mac and to Parallels so may end up being a simple answer - I can't figure out how to enter numbers from the number entry pad on my keyboard. What can I do to get it working?

It should be the clear button in the top left section of the keypad, right above the 7.

If the NumLock above the 7 key was not the answer please state what keyboard and machine you are using
