I use ^ + number keys to switch between my OS X Spaces. When I do this to switch away from my Windows 7 VM running full screen in Space #2, the number for the number key I pressed shows up in the Windows application with the input focus. For example, if a command prompt window is the active Windows application, pressing ^ + 1 to switch from space #2 where the VM is running to space #1 will cause 1 to show up in the command prompt window. This behavior is new in Parallels Desktop 6. Support ticket #1001064 has been submitted for this issue.
Here are the steps to follow to reproduce this issue: 1. Configure Spaces for 4 different spaces. 2. Configure Spaces to switch spaces using ^ + number keys 3. Run Windows 7 as a full screen VM inside space #2 4. Inside the VM, start Notepad and make sure that Notepad window is the active window inside the VM. 5. Press ^ + 1 to switch to space #1. 6. Press ^ + 2 to switch to space #2 where the VM is running. 7. Press ^ + 1 to switch to space #1 again. 8. Press ^ + 2 to switch to space #2 where the VM is running. Notice that the number 1 has appeared inside the Notepad window. Repeat steps 7 and 8 and you will see that a 1 is appearing inside Notepad each time these steps are done. OS X is properly using ^ + number keys to switch spaces. However, Parallels is incorrectly treating ^ + 1 as though I pressed the 1 key by itself. This issue did not occur in Parallels Desktop 5. This issue is new to Parallels Desktop 6. Attempts to change/enable/disable various keyboard related preferences in Parallels and for the VM did not fix this issue. Has anyone else run into this?
