Older version running....but can't see it

I'm truing to install version 10. I've downloaded the software, close down my version 9, and I still get an popup that states that I have an older version running. Thought perhaps it was because I didn't upgrade 9, so I tried to do that....same issue. Tried to move my Parallels app to Trash, and won't let me do that because it says it's running someplace, but I can't see it.

Been having other issues, so seems like I might have duplicate app running someplace. How can I open a "task manager" in OS that will allow me to close any running apps? Anybody come across this same issue?
 
Hi Kurt,
1. Shut down the Virtual Machine, if it is running.
To Shut down the virtual Machine, click on Start icon in the windows desktop -> Select Shut down ( or ) click on Virtual Machine -> Shutdown.
2. Right click on Parallels Desktop icon ( || ) at the Dock and choose Quit Parallels Desktop.
3. Now try to install Parallels Desktop 10 again and it should work for you.
