'Open With' menu after downgrade from 6 to 5

I have a Mac Book Pro running OSX 10.6.4

I have downloaded and installed the Parallels 6 trial file. As I was unhappy with the slowness of the scroll (two fingers gesture) on my guest OS, Windows 7, and could not find a workaround I decided to uninstall 6 and reinstall 5 where everything works fine in the guest OS.

Now in the contextual 'Open With' menu on the Mac side, I got (this is an example) "Microsoft Excel.app (default) (windows 7)" and when I select it it gives an error stating "... Image not found..."

I have cleared the contextual menu with all the options I found in the internet, from deleting the 'com.apple.launchServices.plist' to run scripts, etc.etc., but was unable to clear the wrong link and have the correct one which is "Microsoft Excel.app (6.5)" back.

Is there any workaround? Am I doing something wrong?
