Opening Wrong Program From Windows

Bit poster
I have two versions of an application installed on OS X, one is a release version and the other is a Beta version. In my Parallels shared applications in Windows they both have separate icons and seperate file names. However when I click on the release version icon it opens up the Beta version of the program in OS X. I can't find any way of redirecting it to the proper application to launch.

Each application is in its own seperate folder within the Applications directory.

System:
- Mac OS X 10.4.11
- Windows XP Professional
- Parallels Desktop for Mac Build 5586,

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Currently I am having to uninstall the BETA when I'm working in release version and reinstall when I'm doing testing of the Beta version of the application.

Thanks in advance for any help/insight.

Please disable SmartSelect
on Parallels Desktop -<Virtual Machine name>-Edit-Virtual Machine-Shared Applications and Share Windows applications on bot VMs
Delete Windows Applications folder in VM folders, enable back Shared Applications, and associate them in way you want

Thanks for the reply John. I'm fairly new to Parallels so please bear with me. I tried to follow the directions best I could. I'm launching the Mac OS X application from Windows on Parallels and the wrong version is opening in OS X.

I disabled SmartSelect but this appears to be associated with Shared Windows applications. Deleted shared applications on both OS X and Windows. Then the only way I can see to get them back is to populate, which I did and still having the problem.

Could you elaborate more on making the associations? Seems this is with opening a file and having it open the correct application. I've already done all the file association stuff. I'm actually clicking on the application icon for the release version of the software and the beta (newer version) is opening up instead.

(Edit: The problem seems to be with the MyMacApplication (Mac).exe file in the Shared Applications folder. Launching directly from here even opens the same application as the BETA (Mac).exe)

Hope that all makes sense.

Thanks,
-michael

Ok, I got it , in this case please disable Share mac OS application to Windows
Make sure it is also disabled in ParallelsTools center in Windows
Delete if it is still there
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Parallels Shared
Enable back Mac Application sharing
Applications in both Vms, and associate it ones again, using open with -Choose programs
