Outlook problem

Hi, aplogies for a noob question, but I'm having no success whatsoever, getting my Outlook to reach the corporate exchange server when running it in Parallels (XP SP2, on a Macbook).

Is there a tried-and-true set of instructions for getting this up and running?

That all seems fine. In fact, using a client like Thunderbird, connecting to my Gmail account is also ok. It just seems to be an exchange server level issue
 
I got Outlook ('97) working with IMAP settings, and runs nice and smoothly, yet want to revert to an exchange connection which is where it all just sort of runs out....

Firewalls are down, virus protection is switched off, all network connections are permitted, so it really seems to be a small tweak in the config between Outlook client and Exchange server, which is new to me, under parallels.

Probably it is client incompatibility, if Exchange is 2007, there may be client incompatibility, please ask Exchange admin, does he allow old client conections
