Overclocking CPU in Parallels

Hi, Is there any other possibility to overclock the CPU in Parallels for Mac with windowsxp or vista? With an old Version of CPUFSB (freeware) i could change my Intel Core 2 Duo Processor from 2,16 GHZ to a maximum of 9GHZ with Geekbench Values of 7500 compared to 1700. Unfortunately i deleted this old version of CPUFSB. With the new version of cpufsb or CoolCPU from Ralph Podien (now Shareware) i could not get any change in the CPU.I do not know why. The old version of CpuFSB is no more available. Is there any other possibility of overclocking the CPU in Parallels? Thanks, Michael

Is it really setting it to that CPU level of 9 GHz? I doubt it. Anyway, you would have to do it on the OS X side of things, Parallels is not involved in overclocking.

Thanks Eru for your post. Now i found a way, to overclock Mac CPU directly in Windows XP (not possible with vista, why?), started with parallels. You must download the freeware crystal CPUID. Choose the file menu and click multiplier management settings. Choose in the multiplier (FID) three times for example the value 16 and click apply. That is it. In order to save the overclocking effect you must keep open crystal cpuid, do not exit! For control of the dramatic overclocking you can use the freeware PC Wizard. Click there the processor icon and you will see the initial frequence of the cpu ( my cpu: 2,16 Ghz) and the overclocked frequence, which varies from 3,5 GHZ to about 10 GHZ. For confirming and realizing the overclocking i tested the system with xbench (2.0.0.9) and cpumark 2.1.

Here are the results: xbench value without overclocking: 1600 and with overclocking 7000. CPUMark value: without overclocking about 5500 and with overclocking 25000. Next time i will try cinebench values. In summary i got an amazing performance of windows xp with parallels. I think better performance compared to xp installed on an original fast windows PC.

Woah, that's some pretty serious differences there.

You would have to overclock in the actual OS X side of things, though, it is what actually interfaces with the processor.
 
Overclocking CPU

My comment means, that any Intel Mac with windows xp and Parallels is faster than a Windows PC. Greetings from Munich, Germany, Michael. I think it would be very interesting for the Parallels company.
