Parallels 11: Stuck in startup repair loop, win 7

After upgrading my copy of Parallels 10 to 11 I hit the startup repair problem when booting my windows 7 virtual machine. The VM was working great in Parallels 10 but is now dead.
I followed instructions in another thread (which pointed to this article http://kb.parallels.com/5223) but nothing has helped so far. Startup repair can't fix the problem. System restore doesn't work and I don't have any system images to recover from as I figured upgrading Parallels software would be a pretty straight foward task!

Help!
 
Ok so I *think* this was a real problem. However my entire HDD failed the next day so I ended up having to reinstall OSX, parallels 11 and the Windows OS. Works fine now :)
