Parallels 12, Windows 7 unable to install tools, stuck at 15%

Discussion in 'Windows Virtual Machine' started by Parallels User, Aug 7, 2017.

  1. Hi,
I cannot install my Parallels Tools. I tried everything suggested in this forum:
    - Uninstall from Windows machine and reboot
    - clear the startup using msconfig and reboot
    - removed all references from the registry and reboot
It stays stuck at 15%. PTAgent is running and setup.exe is running (both as Administrator), but there is no activity (ie cpu=0 and memory is going down during the time). Eventually it goes to 20% for a long time, then 51% and then an error message stating a reboot of the system is required with a trouble shooting link.
Mac Sierra 10.12.6, virtual machine Windows 7
What else can I do. This is really frustrating...... I was hoping this would just work.
The main thing is that I want to use the files on my mac. The network connection to my mac is not even working.
What can I do to access the files on my Mac ? Is this possible without Parallels tools?

Hello @remcom Please run the SFC Scan(open the command prompt as an administrator and run this command "sfc /scannow") and please follow the steps mentioned in the below KB article http://kb.parallels.com/117753 and check it helps. Thanks, Shathish
