MacOS 10.13.6, when i launch my Windows XP VM, i got : A file or device required for the operation of Hard Disk 1 does not exist or is used by another process, or you have no permission to access it. The virtual machine will continue running, but the device will be disconnected. All was working on parallels 13 before update
Just a question, is this problem solved and does Windows XP professional runs under Parallels 14? I want to run XP prof. on my Mac but want to be sure all is good.
Hi Roland, this was pretty unique issue with WinXP, we offered our assistance but did not come to the resolution in the end. Are you planning to upgrade to version 14 from a previous one?
What macOS are you running? If you upgraded to Mojave, I suggest you try Parallels Desktop 14 for Mac: http://parallels.com/directdownload/pd14 If your macOS version is older, try 13th version: http://parallels.com/directdownload/pd13
Hi Dmitry, I'm running on High Sierra, I will follow the link and try to download 13. Thanks for the help sofar
Hi Roland, i don't know why, but the XP HDD seems to be corrupt. I do not know if it's me, the mac update or parallels update ... and my backup have the same issue so the corruption must occur during my last VM usage. The Parallels Team support was great !
Hi Georges, Thanks for the update, at this moment I'm struggling with other issues, I'm trying with 13 at this moment but don't get the assistant running on the Windows PC.
