There is still some tweaking to be done for Parallels to work with Lion as it does with Snow Leopard. One item I have noticed is with coherence mode. If I am out of coherence mode and place an item on my desktop, it appears on my Mac desktop as well. This is normal. But if I go into coherence mode, the shortcut placed on the desktop (not on my Mac desktop) will not work. Anything on the Mac desktop will look for an application in the Mac programs to start. If this is a Windows program, it cannot find an application to start. The .ink extension on a shortcut does not work. I have updated to the latest version of Parallels (that came out with Lion).

Thank you. But I have downloaded the latest Parallels. All software updates to MacOS X Lion are current. All updates to Parallels 6 are current. I have Parallels Build 6.0.12094. A click of the Check for Updates, indicates that I have the most recent version of Parallels. I have shut down and restarted. Here's the behavior:
If I am NOT in coherence mode and I place a shortcut on my Windows desktop, it appears automatically on both my windows 7 desktop AND the Lion desktop. When I then enter coherence mode, the shortcut (.ink) file appears on my Lion desktop, but does not function. When I click it, it looks for a Mac application, not a Windows application.
If I am in coherence mode and I move a shortcut to the Lion desktop, it appears and the Parallels lines do show up and the shortcut does indeed work.

Oddly, I had the latest update before installing Lion and Parallels would not run (I got the "nonresponsive" message when I looked at the status on the dock. For the hell of it I downloaded the same version from the Parallels website and selected to install it over the existing copy. The installation ended rather quickly, long before I would have though it should. But, when I tried again to run Parallels 6 it worked. Go figure...
