Parallels application loses its menu items

This has been periodically happening to me since version 2, but I keep forgetting to report it. But once in a while, Parallels would lose its menu items (as in, if Parallels is the app that's in focus, you normally see all kinds of stuff in the menu...stuff like looking at your VM configuration, etc. Once the menu items disappear, even the Preferences choice is greyed out.

I'm using a WinXP VM on a MacBook Pro. 3GB memory, 1GB dedicated to WinXP.
