Parallels, Bootcamp and boot.ini

Great product!

I am running Parallels 3186, Bootcamp and Windows XP plus Mac-FUSE + NTFS-3G for file sharing. I typically use the Parallels VM but every now and then I need to boot into Bootcamp.

Can someone from Parallels (or someone in the know) please verify/explain how boot.ini is managed in a Parallels/Bootcamp configuration? I see different versions of boot.ini depending on whether I am running Parallels or Bootcamp.

I am curious about this too...

I have been unable to boot my Boot Camp partition in Parallels since installing NTFS-3G (though Windows runs fine if I boot into it).

I have tried many versions of NTFS-3G and MacFUSE, as well as several betas of Parallels up to the new release. I now have the newest versions of both. I have even uninstalled Parallels and MacFUSE/NTFS-3G. Even after uninstalling MacFUSE, and reinstalling Parallels, it won't boot.

I think the problem is in my boot.ini file and have tried editing it, but I always get the same "Unable to open disk image Boot Camp!" message.

Anyone else have this problem? Anyone know a fix?
 
I am reading this as you are no longer able to setup a plain vanilla Parallels/Bootcamp VM and boot into the VM (even without NTFS-3G). However booting directly into Bootcamp works for you.

A few questions --

Did you modify the Bootcamp installation to use custom hardware profiles for some reason?
Can you post your boot.ini?

I have been running this sort of configuration without any problems so I can try to help if you like.

Thanks for your reply! Your reading was correct. I have not been able to boot into the Parallels VM version of my Win XP Pro Boot Camp install since I installed NTFS-3G. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling everything, but NTFS-3G always works (when installed) and Parallels will not boot my Boot Camp install (though it works with all other VMs I have tried).

I have tried to reconfigure both boot.ini and "Windows XP.pvs" with no luck whatsoever. But right now they are back to their defaults.
