Parallels Demo 5.0 Error With Ubuntu install

I get the error below when I try to install Ubuntu 9.10 from an ISO image file (tried both 64 and 32 bit). I am running it on Mac Mini Server Snow Leopard 4GB. Any ideas are appreciated. Would like to test PD before I buy it and recommend it.

Unable to create the Unattended.iso disc image.
Please contact the Parallels support team for assistance.
 
I have the same problem. Unbuntu Server 9.10. I tried both the 32- and 64-bit versions. Macbook Pro. Ubuntu 9.10 desktop runs fine.

I tried a manual install of 9.10 Server, it completes but when the machine starts it does not detect the mouse and therefore goes into shell mode, i.e. no GUI.

Any help appreciated,

I figured it out that it had to be done custom. You just need to add the ubuntu desktop. From the command prompt, type the following command (make sure you are online).

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

then after a reboot it will automatically start. Everything worked like a charm for me. Don't forget to install parallels tools. Read Parallel's instructions.
 
Custom install and ServerGUI

I was getting the same error too. And found the instruction in the thread Parallels v5.0.9334 and Ubuntu Server 9.10 on doing a Custom install solved the problem.

Server GUI
Reading the Ubuntu documentation, I think you will find that Ubuntu does not install a GUI with the server version whichever way you install it. The idea being that you don't need to extra load of a GUI on a server, or the possible security problems.

Not wanting to install an extra 2GB for 'ubuntu-desktop' I found the page ServerGUI talks about installing a slimmed down GUI on you server. (Though I haven't had the time to try it yet.)
