Parallels Desktop 16 for M1

I just received an email from Parallels Technical Preview Team that Parallels for M1 is now officially released with a coupon code for a 20% discount for Technical Preview participants. If you purchase the Standard version you own the product, however if you want to get the Pro version, you can only rent it for 12 months at a time and that will cost you $79.99. Is it just me or do others also have a problem with this type of marketing. they are in your bank account forever, or until you stop using renting from them. I'm sorry, but when I buy something I want to own it, not rent it.
