Parallels desktop 3.0 for mac Install Troubles

I've been trying to install Parallels 3.0 on my imac for a few days now, but the instal screen is infinitely stuck on "running packaging scripts" either adding more time to the projected install time or not moving at all.
Help please? 3.0 typically take days to install?

Here's all my mac info:
Procerssor: 3.2 GHz intel core i3
Memory: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Software: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5
 
PDM3 was released in June 2007, OS X Lion in July 2011.
PDM3 is not compatible with OS X Lion. PDM 7 is the minimum for Lion.

(And before you ask, "or later" in the chart only applies to versions within OS X releases. So "10.5 or later" means 10.5, 10.5.2, 10.5.8 but not 10.6)
