Parallels Desktop 6 - Still 8 Cores, 8GB limit

I was hopeful that the new Parallels Desktop 6 would fully support the new 12-core Mac Pro and VMs larger than 8GB of RAM.

Unfortunately, it does not. Still an 8-Core limit, still no more than 8GB of RAM in the VM, no matter how much RAM you have available.

'Cmon Parallels - great product, but you should support the latest Mac hardware, especially if you are charging lots of $$$$ for full version upgrade.
 
I think they're doing this so people have a reason to buy the more expensive Parallels Server for Mac. It's not a big change to increase the CPU's from 8 to 12 or the RAM from 8 GB to 64 GB.

If you have *that* hardware, do buy a license for Parallels Server, it is much better suited.
 
Parallels Server: $2000. Parallels Desktop: $80.

I don't think 50% more CPU's and 100%-800% more RAM is worth 2500% more $.

Parallels Desktop 6 will be out in a few days. How does Parallels Server (which is still at version 4) compare?

People do buy Mac Pros for personal use. What features does Server have that a single home user would want besides more CPU's and RAM?
