Parallels Desktop failure after OS upgrade - Please help fix

I just went from Mac OS 10.4 to 10.5 with archive and install. I also backed up the entire 10.4 image to an external drive. All programs are working fine, except Parallels Desktop! I'm getting an error pop-up message upon opening the program, saying that Parallels Desktop cannot locate ONE of its drivers so it cannot open. It is the latest Parallels Desktop version with Windows Vista Ultimate..... all was working fine on 10.4.

Here is the exact message:
Parallels Desktop is unable to operate properly since it cannot communicate with one of its drivers. Try to restart the application to overcome this issue. If restart doesn't help, re-install Parallels Desktop. Note that Parallels drivers require a short time to be properly started and initialized. So you may need to wait a minute before trying to launch the application.

How can I fix this without re-installing Windows?

Hi,

Please, reinstall Parallels Desktop as suggested. You would not need to reinstall Windows, just (after reinstalling PD)
create a new virtual machine using the winvista.hdd (the virtual machine's hard drive) you have now.
So you will have access to all the data and applications from there.

than install it back:

• Use these links to download fresh version of Parallels Desktop

After that:

- go to Finder -> Applications -> Parallels and launch Parallels Desktop
- create a new virtual machine. You can find out how to create a new VM using existing .hdd in the documentation:

(starting from the page 67. Select the Custom installation mode. When asked about hard disk image options, please, choose "Use an existing image file as a hard disk").

I think I got it working! I went to uninstall and it said 'Parallels not installed'. So I just installed a fresh version and it automatically linked up with Windows and now it seems to be working fine. I'm actually quite surprised. For some reason, the OS update didn't bring over PD, but it got Windows and made it look like PD was installed (all the icons were there). That is really strange.
