Parallels Desktop is unable to operate

We upgraded to 3, but some Windows software we were running in XP in Version 3 is gone.

Now we're trying to run 2.5, but it says "Parallels Desktop is unable to operate properly since it cannot communicate with one of its drivers. Seems that drivers are inconsistent with the currently installed version of Parallels Desktop. To overcome this issue, reintall Parallels Desktop and start it by selecting Finer>Application>Parallels>Parallels"

We did this, but we get the same message.

We're trying to get back to where we were before we upgraded to 3.0

How do we do this?

We've uninstalled Parallels and reinstalled 2.5.

Hello!

Please uninstall Parallels Desktop for Mac 3.0 using the Uninstall application from the 3.0 package, repair disk permissions by means of MacOSX Disk Utility (Applications-Utilities), restart the mac and install the previous build,

I'm starting to see the same error. I'm about to download, uninstall and re-install Parallels. Does this mean that I am going to have to re-install my guest OS, windows XP from scratch?? I'm not running bootcamp, so i don't have a separate partition. Is there something that I can do prior to doing the reinstall to back up my Guest OS so that I don't have to re-install windows again???

Hello!

If you uninstall Parallels, your guest OS files won't be deleted. Nevertheless it is recommended to backup your virtual machine. Please open Finder and browse to Documents-Parallels folder, after that please find your virtual machine main folder and files - they are .hdd (virtual hard disk), .pvs (config file) and some others. Please backup the virtual machine folder.

Ok I was running 2.5 now I updated to 3.0. When I try to start parallels, it gives me the error of not being able to communicate with one of its drivers.... I need 3.0 as I need to use my USB under OSX 10.4.10. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and every other trick I can find. I am damn close to saying screw Parallels and use BootCamp. I want to be able to use both OS's at the same time! This is getting really annoying! I tried to load Ver 3 from scratch and it then says my serial number is not valid with that version... Can someone please help me here. I really need my XP partition and I NEED USB! I do NOT like paying almost $70.00 for something that DOES NOT WORK. Im getting upset here... VERY.
