Parallels Desktop will not start after installing most recent update.

Parallels 12, Sept. 21, 2017 attempted most recent update. Downloaded without incident, quit virtual machine, ran installation, it installed, listed in Finder, but Message box says "Parallels Desktop could not be restarted." Virtual had been stopped according to instructions. Install in Finder was sent it to Trash, emptied Trash, and tried again, three times to run installation again. Same result.

Any suggestions?
