Parallels dhcp server won't let computer sleep on timer...

When set to automatically sleep after a specified amount of time (in Energy Saver prefs) Parallels dhcp server will not let the computer automatically deep sleep. It requires you to kill it (which defeats its purpose) to let the computer sleep. This is a common problem with networking apps and deep sleep. Could you please enlighten me to a workaround?
