Parallels Installer Won't Run

When I try to run 4562 installer it asks which application should be used to open it, then it starts Parallels and then shuts it back down. Using "Get Info" on the installer it shows Parallels Desktop as the application to open the installer with--any thoughts or recommendations?

MacBook Pro, 2GB

VM Windows XP

Parallels Desktop.pkg file should be opened with Mac OS "Installer" application. Right-click on it, select "Open With" and search for the "Installer". Looks like something is wrong with your Mac OS file associations.
