Parallels keeps logging me out of my MAC

I use Parallels on my Mac to use a program on Windows 8 called Kakaotalk and every time I receive a message I immediately get logged out of Mac OS. Why on earth would this be happening? Any responses appreciated.

Update 1- Seems to only kick me out when I am in Coherence Mode

Update 2- I tried it in Coherence mode but this time with Enable Retina Mode check marked and it works fine. Thing is, I don't like it this way because everything is so tiny.

I'm seeing similar behavior. I'm running Mavericks on a 2012 Macbook Pro Retina. I am using Parallels with Windows 8.1 Professional. Primarily to run Visual Studio 2012 Pro to develop web apps.

I'm seeing this logout behavior at random times, and Parallels also simply locks my machine up for no apparent reason. Parallels has been close to unusable, at times.

I was running VirtualBox, and thought that "upgrading" to Parallels was the right move, since it is a professionally supported package. Now I'm seriously reconsidering.
 
I seem to have isolated the issue. Parallels and Safari do not play well together at all.

I was in Windows 8.1, running Visual Studio '12, and started encountering the lock-ups on a very regular basis. I finally quit everything and rebooted my Macbook Pro. I started Parallels up again and everything was running fine. At some point, I realized that I hadn't restarted Safari. I started Safari back up, loaded my previous session, and boom. Back to where I started. Every 2-5 minutes, I would see the entire machine freeze solid. Nothing worked, including the mouse. After approximately 30 seconds, everything would resume working. But this happened on a regular basis.

I had Activity Monitor open, and the CPU graphs were quite high, although not pegged. Different kernel tasks would peg, though.

After the lightbulb went on and I realized Safari had something to do with it, I quit the app. From that point on, everything has been fine.

This needs to be fixed. I can't imagine why Safari and Parallels are having issues with each other, but this is ridiculous. They are running in a modern, hyper-threaded OS, after all.

There's no issue between the programs and it's not related to hyper-threading. The only issue is RAM related, the freezing is just the Mac paging because it doesn't have enough free RAM, Safari can easily eat more than 1 GB of RAM, a Parallels VM can eat the amount it has been assigned to (say 2 GB), if you are running both in a 4 GB machine you have only 1 GB left for OS X and any other program on OS X, this will cause the Mac to page (writing the contents of memory to disk in order to free memory space).

Quitting Safari frees the memory it was using, you might also issue the Terminal command 'purge' before starting Parallels.

As a developer yourself I find it strange you didn't think of this?

Well, given that I'm running on a machine with 8GB RAM, I've got 4GB dedicated to Parallels, and the issue happens with a fresh reboot of the computer and Safari running with only a couple of windows and tabs, I don't think it's strange at all. And the fact that it happens with no other programs. So no, it's not strange at all that I think the issue is between Parallels and Safari.

I've seen OS X page before, and it has never been like this. And again, I've not had this issue with any other apps, and I've maxed this machine out before. For example, I was running VirtualBox prior to switching over to Parallels. Same configuration. And I never had paging issues like this. If, in fact, it is simply paging. So I'm still of the belief that at least part of the responsibility lies with how Parallels is responding to the situation.

Any other snark you want to throw in my direction? :-)

I'm completely willing to be wrong about this. I'd love to have "purge" completely handle the situation. But pleasant attitudes go much further. And this still doesn't address the original poster's concern (which I echo) regarding the forced log-out. Not sure how "purge" is going to absolve Parallels of any responsibility there....

Wow, you are a stroppy one aren't you! Glad i read through the posts before asking you for...anything!

I have the exact same issue but only on my Retina Macbook Pro, i have an identical setup (RAM etc) on my iMac even the same copy of Windows but the crash and logout only happens on the laptop
