two parallels.log > 16GB

just checked the size of file parallels.log in .PVM, it's over 8GB. this is just a log file how come the size is so big?

update 1:
there is another parallels.log file in /Library/Logs and it is 7.8GB

two parallels.log file eat up 16GB disk.

Can someone help me to find out the problem?

Because it is never pruned. If you logged an activity every day for your entire life that log would be long too. :) Still 8GB seems very large for normal logging. Is this an old VM? The largest one I have is currently 12 MB.

Can you check Parallels Desktop | Preferences... | Advanced | Use detailed log messages

If that is checked it would cause the file to grow much faster than otherwise.

BTW... Which parallels.log are you seeing grow? Is it inside your .PVM file? If so I just deleted mine when it grew large. It caused no problems and a new one was created when the VM was next started. Move it to a backup location first, just in case.

I have no idea why this file is so big. I have checked the preferences, I haven't check that use detailed log messages.

I have deleted that log file.

Thank you

Here is an update, the parallels.log actually used up 16GB on my disk
one parallels.log file located in .PVM weighted 8GB
and another parallels.log file located in /Library/Logs, weighted 7.8GB

I have installed parallels on this newly purchased iMac about a month ago. how come the log file increased to such an unbeleivable size?

I know I can manually delete both log file, but is that something parallels needs to figure out?

Just checking in with another report-

My VM (Windows 2008 Server R2) isn't even two months old yet and I just discovered a 20gb C:\Windows\Logs\parallels.log. Detailed logging is disabled.
