Parallels Network Adapter missing in XP?

Hi all,

Network/internet access quit working in XP after using Verizon National Access USB modem. Network & internet still work fine in Mac OS.

Have upgraded from Parallels build 5600 to 5608.

ipconfig /all in XP doesn't show ANY network adapters? The "Parallels Network Adapter" simply isn't there?

Any advice on how to correct this would be appreciated.

Have spent a couple hours searching the forum as a guest and found others with similar problems, but none of the suggested fixes seemed to work. I couldn't find any posts from anyone with a missing Parrallels Network Adapter in XP.

Probably you disconnected network adapter in Windows XP, check that there is Network adapter in Configuration editor and it is set Enabled and connect at startup is selected

Thank you. You're correct the network adapter was missing in the Virtual Machine setup. I was able to add the shared network adapter again which solved the problem.

Enable Shared Networking and install Network driver in Vista
as bellow
1. Connect Parallels Tools CD image (vmtools.iso) to VM. You can find

Parallels Tools CD image at the /Library/Parallels/Tools folder.



2. In the Windows Vista Start menu, go to Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager and select

Network Adapters -> Parallels Network Adapter in the left panel. Double click it.

3. Choose Driver -> Update Driver... -> Browse for driver software on your computer. Point the path to your CD.

4. When Windows asks you what driver to use, you should point to:

Drivers/Network/RTL8029/Win2000.XP.ME.2003 on your virtual CD-ROM.
