After recent update Parallels has changed behaviour.

I can use applications in WindowsXP as before but when active, the Parallels Desktop icon longer shows as 'active' in the Dock, nor does it show as active in Application Switcher (CTRL-tab)
Nor can I see the Parallels menubar.

I suspect that during the last update the installation of Parallels tools stalled/was interrupted, what shall I do?

O god, it looks as though I can no longer contact Parallels Support directly without taking out a subscription.
    Is VMWare more friendly?
How do I get my problem addressed?
What I'd like to do is download PD again and re-install it, but I don;t know where to get this download.
Do I simply download the demo?
If I re-insatll will the newly hatched PD refer to all my existing prefs?

A reinstallation of Parallels tools is never a bad idea. Just try menubar -> virtual machine -> reinstall Parallels tools.
