Parallels on M1 slowed to crawl after upgrade from trial to paid version

    Hi - My kid got a trial version of Parallels Desktop and used it happily. Then upgraded to the paid version without changing any settings and it slowed to a crawl after the upgrade. I'm trying to help and am mystified. They have Parallels Desktop 18 Pro, v. 18.0.2 (53077). They are running on a Macbook Air M1 2020, MacOS 12.1, 16GB RAM, 1TB drive. Thoughts?
