Parallels performance - Linux with multiple core cpu

Is the information at http://blog.parallels.com/2015/03/31/virtual-machine-performance-myths-debunked/ still current? In other words, are 2 virtual cpus the sweet spot for Parallels VMs? The referenced article talks about Windows - same thing for Mint (i.e. Ubuntu) Linux?
