parallels tools in Win 98 with PD 5

I need to run old softs which can work only with Windows 98. I have created a VM in Parallels 5 and I have installed Windows 98 on it. Problem is that it seems impossible to install parallels Tools. I think that files are located in the "prl-tools-win.iso" image, but the "setup.exe" don't run. the alert is about a "PSAPI.DLL" file which is not found.
Is it possible to install parallels tools in Windows 98 with Parallels 5 ? If yes, what is the process ? If No, in what version of Parallels Desktop is it possible (I have the 3 and 4) ?

I have found in the version 3 the files vmtools.iso and vmtools.fdd. I have tried to install manually parallels tools with them. It seems running correctly but at the end, nothing more (mouse, audio, video .... all is like before).
Perhaps these tools for Windows 98 are not compatible with version 5 ?!...
I am going to try reinstall a version 3 in a Mac OS X 10.5 and create a new VM with Win 98....
 
Parallels tools

I have PD5 and Win 98 on Mac OS 10.6.8. There is no problem with Parallels tools installation. My Wacom tablets are not recognized on XP, so I can't adjust properties, but those are controlled from my Mac.
There must be another solution you can try.

I have tried again with Mac OS X 10.5.8 and PD 3.0. The installation of Win 98 run correctly but parallels Tools installation (with vmtools.iso file) has no effects, only the screen definition setting : No sound, no mouse, no copy/past......
With what file (vmtools.iso, prl-tools-win.iso, prl-tools-other.iso .....) have you succeeded the installation of the tools ?
With what type of Apple computer ?
I think that, perhaps, the new iMac 27 " is not compatible, a hardware problem.... for example, I have two cursors with my Magic Mouse, in the window of Win 98 : one is black, like in Mac OS, the other is white like in Windows !!!....
 
Your system sounds more complicated than mine. I have a MacbookPro (June 2009). I use my Wacom pen instead of a mouse. Most of the settings for the pen from system preferences also work in Windows XP. I can't recall a problem with installing Parallels tools, or using the files you mentioned. I think it was part of the installation of PD5. I believe you have to install them again from Virtual Machine in your menu bar when you make some changes.

When I connect my pen by USB, I have to specify Mac or Windows, in the dialogue. I have to choose Mac if I go back and forth in the 2 systems. That is Parallel's information, as I understand it.

Perhaps you could email Parallels for help.
