parallels tools/parallels internet security issue

I opened my parallels windows XP virtual machine for the first time today. It suggested I install the parallels internet security. I've had nothing but problems since then.

I was informed that it was obsolete and needed to be updated. I clicked somewhere to update it. It never finished. Never got that update installed. And ever since, the tools have been screwed up and I get errors about various exe files being unable to finish because of some windows closing process was started.

I got a mac because I love macs. I got parallels for the convenience of being able to use windows as well.

Did I get a windows virus already? What happened?

Oh and by the way what Mac are you using? And what version of Parallels Desktop 5 for Mac are you using?
