I opened an Ubuntu VM I hadn't used in some months, and after logging in, it asked to update Parallels Tools. I said yes, it updated and then rebooted, and it never successfully booted after that. Parallels 17.1.0 business subscription edition, VM was Ubuntu 14. Is there any solution? IT support at work said A. give up and just build another VM, and B. never update Parallels Tools because it always causes problems (LOL) - I've used Parallels for a decade and never had a tools installation give me any problems.. thanks for any advice.. OK, just happened again, on another computer, on an Ubuntu 18.04 VM - updated parallels tools from the linux desktop, and it finished and then the VM won't boot after the update. What the heck is going on with Parallels?
