Have installed Parallels Version 16.5 on an M1 mac mini. Downloaded Windows10_InsiderPreview_Client_ARM64_en-us_21354.vhdx. The installation repeatedly fails during the "Installation Assistant"/"Create New" stage. I select the vhdx file and get to the "Name and Location" screen, where I specify where to install. It gets to almost 20% complete where it stops and drops straight back to the "Name and Location" screen.

I tried the install one last time selecting "manual" install. Dragging the Microsoft file into the installer window. Then it worked.

I am trying to use the "manual" method by dragging the vhdx to the window as well as selecting it manually. Nothing works.

    macOS BigSur 11.3 (20E232)
    Parallels Desktop Version 16.5.0 (50692)
    Windows10_InsiderPreview_Client_ARM64_en-us_21354.VHDX

Getting an error "Unable to detect operating system" after selecting the vhdx, and if I try to proceed anyway it will fail with "Operation Failed". "Failed to execute operation". Re-downloaded the vhdx multiple times to make sure it is not broken.

Known issue? Can anybody post a md5sum of the vhdx that works for them?

    thanks,
    Martin

    I've got the same issue

    macOS 11.4 (20F71)
    Parallels Desktop Version 16.5.1 (50696)
    Windows10_InsiderPreview_Client_ARM64_en-us_21354.VHDX

    Any news on this?

I was able to get around my issue, with going through the installation, and choosing "manual" I think it was when choosing the windows installer. once I did that, the installation went just fine.
