Hi,
Here's my rig:
MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2012 model
OSX10.10.3
Processor: 2.5GHz Intel Core i5
Model identifier: 9,2
Present RAM: 4GB Stock (2- 2GB sticks)
I run Parallels 10 & Windows 8.1 on it for business reasons and my laptop seems to bog down at times, so that's why I am considering adding more RAM.
In Windows, I run programming appls like Visual Basic and NotePad++.
When I am in OSX, I occasionally run iTunes, perhaps Photoshop.
The stock 4GB RAM in mt laptop seems like it could use a bit of help now and then, so going up to 8GB RAM seems like a no-brainer. Cost is approx $70 from OWC for an 8GB RAM self install kit.
But I really don't know how much I really need when I have Parrallels/Windows running with my programming apps. OWC also sells a 16GB RAM kit, which will work in my laptop, but at $140, is 16GB overkill?
