Partition hardisk or virtual machine?

Dear,

I have a doubt about Parallels. When we install Parallels on Mac it means a partition of hardisk?
How can I know if my laptop has the hardisk divided?

I believe that my laptop has Parallels installed as virtual machine but I'm not sure. I would like to know how can I check that.

Parallels Desktop will not partition your hard disk. It will create the virtual machine as a file on the Mac hard disk with the extension .pvm. You can locate it using Finder search and search for .pvm on the Mac hard disk.
