The standard C# settings for Visual Studio use the keyboard short cut F6 for the build command. Parallels Desktop 8 introduced the F6 keyboard shortcut for "Show and Hide Parallels Desktop", and thus clashes with VS. Although it's possible to either deactivate the shortcut in Parallels Desktop or change the shortcut in Visual Studio, neither is a good solution. Dear Parallels Team, please make the keyboard shortcut in Parallels Desktop configurable! Thanks, Robert F. Tobler
It should be configurable. Goto Parallels Preferences (Not configure for the VM). Untick that shortcut for the 'Windows' profile, it should solve your issue.
F6 is buggy in Build 8.0.18100 In Build 8.0.18100 F6 is buggy: Behavior when "Show and Hide Parallels Desktop" is selected is: - If Parallels has focus, it switches away - If Parallels does not have focus, it switches to Parallels Behavior when "Show and Hide Parallels Desktop" is not selected is: - If Parallels has focus, nothing happens - If Parallels does not have focus, it switches to Parallels (but should not - BUG). The above behavior occurs even when a VM is not running - just Parallels, so it should not have anything to do with profiles of virtual machines etc. This bug interferes with a lot of other applications that use F6 as under OS X - I hope it will be fixed soon. Thanks for a great product, Roland
