PD8 - worth upgrading?

I am still on Lion 10.7.3 (MBP) and use Windows XP so not the latest versions of either or indeed do I need Windows in 64-bit etc.

I just use Windows via Parallels for an Audio Editor mainly so only need a 1Gb of ram or so..

So my question is, do I really need to upgrade to PD8?

I am on the latest PD7, but thought that PD8 was more geared to Windows 7/8 and Mountain Lion with 64-bit programs etc

Are there any CPU improvements in PD8 that would make some difference to me with speed, memory etc, and not just retina display improvements?
 
Yes thanks, I did look at this before posting but thought there maybe more to the '8' upgrade than this?

I only need any performance and audio improvements really, as I use an old guest Windows XP OS
