PDFM6 Win7 multiprocessor hang

I am running V6 (latest build 11828) on a MacPro dual processor 4-core each, 6GB RAM. The VM freezes after some time, only a hard stop is possible. There were plenty of BSODs with the usual message that indicates RAM failure, but also just freezes. This did not happen in V5.

The only thing that seems to resolve it is to restrict the VM to use a single CPU, which does not give the performance I'd like to have from an 8-core machine.

Any advice?
