Performance 2x vs Citrix

Hello. Im new in this forum so.. first of all, Hi...

In the Datacenter we have 2 servers working over Citrix/ICA connection and the response time of the applications using a simple DSL - 1024/128 kbps connection is fast... kinda 100 users on those 2 servers.

Now, we have another 2 new servers using 2X for the same prupose... and the performance is not the same... Citrix has a quick response... while 2x is more slow in the response...

The question here... or my target is... to get the same speed in both citrix and 2X... ¿How do I improve 2X's performance?

Note: Im trying to run the app's in the lowest color density (256) and limited in the RDP configuration too(serverside). I hope u understeand my question and maybe give me some help.

What is your metric for performance what are you measuring.

Make sure your two setups are consistent and that the back-end servers are up to the same spec.

I did not quite get what is your back-end technology ?

2 servers running what ?
What protocols are you passing and what clients are you using.

Are you going through gateway mode or direct ?

Internet Speed in the DataCenter: 100 MB/s

Ok, i have installed in one DELL 2950 (Dual Xeon E5420, 16 GB ram, SCSI HD's, Win 2003) the Gateway... he is just publishing the apps hosted by other two 2950's... the apps are not so heavy to run...

So.. DC, DNS, Databases, are in separated servers...

Citrix in one hand, takes a lot less seconds to display the app background than 2x (while the background is "loading" the app is blocked in both situations) i have noticed too.. the speed of the "menus" is faster response in citrix vs 2x...
Graphics are the worst part.. if i open an internet explorer window in 2x and MSN website comes to front (any animated gif of aprox 600x50)... then 2x is imposible to handle... but citrix in the other hand... keeps running without troubles...

If i miss some info pls tell me and ill update as u need to....

Hi,
So can you test something to get some bearings :

Try to open IE through mstsc using the Options >> button and select "programs" tab "start the following program on connecting" and give it the path.

Test using the "direct" mode instead of "gateway".

Check if the behavior is the same as 2x better or worse and let me know.
