Is it possible to install a keyboard driver/map that will correctly match the symbol layout of the UK MBP keyboard when working in WinXP?

Had a thought... has anyone thought about or tried using either of the following:

This would be great for the Norwegian keyboard layout too.

The Keyboard Layout Creator seems to work perfectly for sorting out the symbols. I just created a 'United Kingdom (MBP)' layout and installed it in the VM. You can switch to it from Control Panel>Regional and Language Options (and switch back if it doesn't work for you!)

It hasn't interfered with the ctrl/alt/option/command/win keys at all - in fact I don't think you can modify them using this utility. The 'remapkey' utility is probably more appropriate for this purpose.
