PowerPoint text displays distorted

Context: MacBook Air, early 2015 edition, running Parallels with Windows 10. About a month ago, upgraded from Office 2010 to Office 2016, and the user believes that this is when the issue started.

The issue is, within the Windows 10 VM, slideshows look fine when he's in "edit" mode, but when he goes into "presentation mode" then some lines of text appear distorted. If I open the same presentation in PowerPoint 2016 for Mac on the machine then everything looks fine. I shut down the VM, installing some
updates in the process, and checked the graphics settings, and nothing looked to be out of the ordinary. I rebooted the VM and logged in via my admin account, and the issue persisted. Below I have a couple of screen shots showing how it looks fine in "edit" and distorted in presentation mode. Any idea what I am missing?

Interesting footnote: the distortion doesn't occur during the transition between slides but only after the transition ends.

Also, I tried disabling hardware acceleration in Powerpoint as well..
 
I found the solution! After reinstalling Parallels Tools, the issue persisted. Then I found an article on Parallels' support forum where there were several suggestions, and one of the suggestions was to go into the VM's configuration (with it shut down of course) and go into the graphics settings and make sure 3d acceleration was enabled. When I got to that screen I found that it was emulating DirectX 10. I changed it to DirectX9, and then booted up the VM and found the issue was resolved!

The 12.1 release notes state the following: "Resolves an issue with graphics artifacts when using Microsoft Edge or Microsoft Office PowerPoint on macOS Sierra".

Definitely JimG2! the latest build 12.1.41489 "Resolves an issue with graphics artifacts when using Microsoft Edge or Microsoft Office PowerPoint on MacOS Sierra" Thanks for your advice.
