I really hate how Parallels automatically starts the VM when you accidentally click on certain files. Is there a way to stop this? I NEVER want a Parallels VM starting automatically. I should make that decision.
Hello, We apologize for the inconvenience. This issue is likely due to the file association on those particular files. If you have set up some files to open with a guest OS application, then upon clicking the file with the extension, the virtual machine will start up and the respective guest application will open. In order to prevent this from happening, we advise you to: 1. Right-click the files > Get info. 2. Select Open with and change it to the macOS application instead of an application from the guest OS virtual machine. Thank you and have a good day!
