Occasionally I have to take my macbook to a remote location. The software I need to use is windows based. The printer is a brother hl5370dw laser printer. supposed to be wireless, but it isn't set up a such. My laptop is a mid 2010 Mac book Pro running OS/x el capitan, 8gb ram, 500gb ssd. I upgraded to P11, and it is running W10 in a VM. All o/s software has the latest updates installed.
The printer is hooked up via USB port to the MBP. With P11 closed, I can install the printer on the mac and print to it fine. P11 was installed with the share printers to mac checked. When I open the P11 desktop, open W10 and look at devices the printer is there and on-line. Running the software I need the printer is there and it works fine.
But, if I need to go back to the OS/x machine and try to print to the printer its 'busy' and unavailable. I get a yellow light on it's status bar and documents just pile up in the print que. It's really inconvenient, how do i sort out the printer so it works under both os/x and the W10 VM?
